The Osler Foundation Board of Directors is a lot like you – hardworking, caring people with busy lives, who want the very best for the community where they and their loved ones live. They are leaders from every walk of life, who volunteer their knowledge, skills and resources to help us achieve patient-inspired health care without boundaries. Many have also used Osler services and programs, so they know how important your donations are to you and your hospital.

As Osler enters an era of unprecedented demand and growth, their dedication and generosity is more critical than ever.

Kulvir Singh Gill, Chair

Kulvir has more than 14 years of experience in strategic planning, organizational effectiveness and innovation.  He is currently a Senior Principal at Clareo Partners, an innovation and growth consultancy. Mr. Gill began his career with Oliver Wyman as a management consultant before holding several management positions with Barrick Gold Corporation.  Kulvir holds a B.Sc. and a B. Comm. from the University of Calgary.

Kulvir is a 2011 Action Canada fellow and a co-founder of the Seva Food Bank.  He also serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the William Osler Health System Foundation and has served on the board of Habitat For Humanity in Brampton, Ontario.  He also recently served on the Transit Investment Strategy Advisory Panel for the Premier of Ontario and on the transition teams for the mayors of both Brampton and Mississauga.  In 2012, he was a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.  Kulvir lives in Brampton with his wife, parents and two boys.


Fabrizio (Fab) Corazzola, Vice-Chair

With 25 years of telecommunications and information technology experience at Bell Canada, Fab Corazzola, Director, Sales – Bell Business Markets, has been a member of and led integrated teams of sales, engineering and client delivery individuals serving customers within both the Corporate and Public sectors. Experienced in building customer and partner relationships, positively impacting revenue and profitability measures, and possessing a proven ability to successfully organize and drive new business-focused teams and customer segments, Fab is an experienced business and sales leader.

Consistent with his desire to help the community, Fab is currently the Vice Chair of the Foundation Board of the William Osler Health System.  In addition, Fab has been a Board member of Toronto’s Ronald McDonald House, a member of the fund raising committee of Frontier College Foundation for Literary and on the advisory council of Iseehear Inc., a technology innovation company within the Life Sciences field. He also continues to be certified as a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

A graduate of Industrial Engineering (B.A.Sc.) at the University of Toronto, Fab has continued to development his senior management skills through his studies at York and Harvard Universities. Fab enjoys many outdoor pursuits and is married with two sons.


ANNE CORBETT

Anne Corbett is a Partner with the law firm of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Toronto where she specializes in the areas of corporate commercial law and health law with a special emphasis on corporate governance.  Anne is involved in providing advice to various health care provider organizations including hospitals, community care access corporations, community health corporations and hospital foundations and volunteer associations.  She frequently provides advice to boards with respect to governance issues.

Anne is the co-author of the Ontario Hospital Association's Guide to Good Governance, Hospital edition and the Guide to Good Governance for Charities and Not-for-Profit Organizations and is a frequent speaker on topics related to board governance and accountability, directors fiduciary duties and governance best practices.

Anne Corbett received her B.A. from the University of Windsor, her LL.B from the University of Toronto and was called to the bar in 1981.  She is a resident of Etobicoke.


SUSAN CRAWFORD

Susan Crawford was born and raised in Brampton. She returned to Brampton in 1998 and together with her husband, David Chondon, became a founding partner of CCPartners – a law firm that represents employers in all areas of labour and employment law/workplace resolution. Susan is also a part-owner in the Employers’ Choice, a human resources consulting business also located in Brampton.

Susan was an elected member of the Brampton Board of Trade's Board of Directors for six years and served as Chair of the Board in 2014. Susan also served as Chair of the Brampton and Caledon Community Foundation for three years from 2011-2013. In addition, CCPartners is actively involved in the community supporting such charitable organizations as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel, William Osler Health System Foundation and the Brampton Kiwanis Club.

Susan and Dave live in Brampton and have four children.

JOHN C. ESPLEN
John Esplen is President, CEO and owner of The Humberview Group, which owns and operates 20 franchise auto dealership operations and other automotive related companies across the GTA. He is also a senior shareholder in Humberview Partners, owner and manager of most of the organization’s real estate holdings and developments. John has lived in Etobicoke for all of his adult life, has several business operations located in Etobicoke and, in many ways, is very connected to the neighbourhood community.

John was educated at Northwood University, an Automotive Business School in Midland, Michigan. After graduating, John began working in the auto retail business at Humberview Chevrolet in 1981, taking over the operation in 1989 and growing his automotive dealer group business over the last 27 years. John believes that a large part of Humberview’s success in the dealership world is due to the organization’s passion for developing outstanding Team members who deliver exemplary customer service.

Dr. Patricia FitzGerald
Dr. Patricia FitzGerald has been a staff radiologist at Brampton Civic Hospital since 2007. Prior to her appointment at Brampton Civic, Dr. FitzGerald worked at Peel Memorial Hospital. Her prior roles include Brampton Civic Hospital Site Chief of Radiology. She has been the lead radiologist in the development of a number of services including the Prostate Ultrasound and Eye Ultrasound programme and implementation of the Ontario Breast Screening Accreditation programme at Peel Memorial.

A native of Ireland, she obtained her medical degree from Trinity College in Dublin and subsequently certified in both Internal Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology.  She then obtained a Master of Science degree in Radiological Sciences at University College Dublin. Dr. FitzGerald completed her training at the University of Toronto with a two year fellowship in MRI and Body Imaging.

Dr. FitzGerald is married to Stephen Douglas and they have two children. The family are avid skiers.

PAL GHUMMAN

Pal Ghumman’s extensive experience includes audit, accounting, tax, and business advisory services for a diverse client base.  His industry expertise includes transportation, inbound and outbound logistics, retail and wholesale distribution, pharmaceutical, farming, manufacturing, real estate syndication and development, real estate construction, technology, and professional practices.  Pal has facilitated several purchase and sale transactions and has assisted clients in obtaining various types of financing.

Pal is also the in-house U.S. tax expert and heads his firm’s U.S. tax practice.  With 14 years of experience in Canada / U.S. cross-border tax work, his practice focuses on serving U.S. citizens living in Canada, “Snowbirds”, Expats, Canadian entities operating in the U.S., or connected U.S. entities doing business in the U.S. or in Canada.  He is expert in planning for mergers and acquisitions, repatriation of assets, and tax structures that allow his clients to efficiently conduct their U.S. activities.  In addition, he is an agent of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, authorized to assist in the filing of W-7’s and in obtaining both U.S. individual (ITIN) and employer (EIN) identification numbers.

Pal has been a Director of the William Osler Health System Foundation Board since June 2013.  An active member of the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce, in 2009 Pal was recognized by the Chamber as “Member of the Year”.  He is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, The Mississauga Board of Trade, and the Brampton Board of Trade.  He is also a founding member of the Sikh Sub-committee of the William Osler Foundation, which raised millions of dollars for Brampton Civic Hospital. 


RAJEEV MISRA

DR. MARC OSSIP

Dr. Marc Ossip has been a staff radiologist at Etobicoke General Hospital for over 10 years. His prior roles included Etobicoke General Site Chief of Radiology for six years and Interim Osler Corporate Chief of Radiology for 1.5 years. He is an adjunct lecturer at University of Toronto, on the Cancer Care Ontario Pulmonary Nodule Working Group and a member of the Osler Credentialing Committee.

He completed his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics at University of Western Ontario and his Doctor of Medicine, Residency in Radiology and Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at University of Toronto.

Dr. Ossip’s wife is a Radiologist at North York General and together they have three sons.


Raj Narula
Born in a small village in Punjab in 1956, Raj K. Narula could have never imagined he would lead the life he does today. Raj's career started in Delhi, India, where he completed his Chartered Accountancy degree in 1981. He was honoured with scoring in the top ten scores for his CA exams nationwide. He subsequently migrated to Canada and obtained the professional designations CGA, CA from Canada and CPA, CGMA, CFE from the United States.

In 1986, he went on to start his own Chartered Accountancy practice in Etobicoke, with a primary focus on tax and management consulting. In practice for over 30 years, he has maintained a diverse and impressive clientele, ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations.

Raj has been blessed with a satisfying personal life. He is married to wife Neelam, and they have two children, both of whom are medical physicians practicing in the GTA. He lives in the Woodbridge area and is a community-oriented individual. He has been proud to be associated with the William Osler Health System Foundation since 2004.

Raj enjoys spending time with family, baseball, travel and, much to his wife's dismay, has no plans for retirement in the immediate future.

BOB PEACOCK

Bob is the President of Almag Aluminum, an award-winning, service-driven, custom aluminum extruder based in Brampton and Ardmore, Alabama.  A family owned business started by his father, Almag has grown steadily over its 62 year history.

Bob graduated from the Engineering program at the University of Waterloo in 1984 and earned his MBA from York University in 1989.  He has a wonderful wife, Deb, who is CEO of the Peacock Household, which includes 2 active twenty-somethings.

Bob has been active on a number of Boards, including Rotary, the Brampton Board of Trade, and the Aluminum Extruders Council, an Industry Trade Association.  He is presently a Director of a Cottage Association and the William Osler Health System Foundation and is the Chair of the Campaign Cabinet for the new Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health & Wellness.


RYAN PENNIE

Ryan is currently President and Co-Founder of Zast Foods Corporation.  Zast Foods licenses and owns food brands that are sold throughout Canada and United States in retail grocery and food service market segments.  Prior to starting Zast Foods he was Vice President Canada/North Eastern Unites States, for Unilever Food Solutions North America and was a member of the Board of Directors, Unilever Canada.  

In 2005 he was awarded the Han Bueschkens Award of Merit for outstanding service, dedication and social advancement of the Canadian Hospitality Industry.  Currently, he is a Board member and Treasurer for the Canadian Hospitality Foundation.  Ryan served as a Board member for six years at the Dare Arts Foundation.  Dare Arts is a charitable organization which operates across Canada and “empowers children and youth at risk using arts to find their voice and become leaders!”

Ryan is a graduate of the University of Guelph and has an Honours, Bachelor of Applied Science with a Major in Consumer Studies.  He is currently a member of the Policy Advisory Board, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management University of Guelph, and was selected Executive in Residence at the School in 2003. Ryan and his family are residents of Etobicoke, Ontario where they have lived for the past 25 years.


STEVE ROBINSON

Steve Robinson is a Vice President and Director with RBC Dominion Securities.  Acting within the capacity of Portfolio Manager & Investment Advisor, Steve Robinson and his team represent one of the top wealth management groups at RBC Dominion Securities in Canada.  Steve and his fully licensed team have over 100 years of experience and manage wealth for clients including foundations, charities, business owners, retired and recently retired successful Canadians.  Steve ensures that their financial affairs are in good order - which means, in addition to having a solid portfolio, Steve will help design and coordinate your Will, Estate, Succession and Insurance plans to maximize your wishes while minimizing current and future tax obligations.  Steve is one of a select few licensed advisors at RBC Dominion Securities in Peel that are able to offer clients Private Investment Management; a distinction reserved for the only the most successful Advisors.

Steve has been a member of the William Osler Health System Foundation Finance committee since September 2010 and a Director of the William Osler Health System Foundation Board since June 2013.

Steve has been a long time member of the Rotary Club of Brampton, being a past treasurer and board member, and recently elected to be club president for the year 2015-2016.

Steve is an Alumni of University of Guelph and makes his home in Brampton.


SUE TETI

Susan Teti is the Regional Vice President at RBC Royal Bank.  She brings to the Foundation 30 years experience in a variety of roles at RBC – most recently as RVP – Brampton.

Susan is a graduate of the University of Windsor where she received her Honors Bachelor of Commerce and Economics degree.  After receiving her degree, she moved from her home town of Tecumseh, Ontario to start her career at RBC.

Along with her husband, she has raised her family in Brampton and proudly considers Brampton Civic her community hospital.


FAISAL YOUSUF

Faisal Yousuf is District Vice President for Brampton in TD.  Faisal joined TD in 2004 and has worked progressively through many different areas of Retail banking, Wealth Management and Sales Solutions group.  His current role involves overseeing the growth and operation of 22 TD Canada Trust Branches in Brampton and surrounding area.

Faisal has a B.COMM & MBA degree from the University of Windsor.  Faisal recently joined the Regional Board for TD Friends of the Environment and also leads TD Regional Gen Next Strategy.  When not in the office, Faisal spends time playing squash with his son and daughter.

Ken Mayhew, President and CEO, William Osler Health System Foundation

In March 2012, Ken Mayhew assumed the role of President & CEO of William Osler Health System Foundation (the Foundation).  The Foundation is currently in a $100M Campaign supporting the redevelopment of Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness, Etobicoke General and the ongoing equipment needs at Brampton Civic Hospital. 

Prior to his position at Osler, Ken spent over 20 years with the MS Society of Canada culminating in the role of Chief Development Officer.  Ken was responsible for all aspects of marketing, communications and fund development for a program with almost 1 million active donors, raising over $50 million annually. He also led a number of campaign cabinets across Canada in the Society’s successful $60 million endMS Capital Campaign.  He has extensive fundraising experience and has conducted training and program audits in the UK, US and across Canada.
 
Ken is President-Elect for the GTA Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and chairs their Human Resources Task Force.  Ken is a frequent contributor to media and industry discussions on fundraising trends, costs and evaluation, is a member of Imagine Canada's Tax Measures Working Group and serves as a member of Ketchum Canada's National Advisory Board. 

Ken is the Past Chair of the AFP Canadian Government Relations Committee.  An active volunteer, Ken's many previous roles have included several years as a member of Sick Kids Foundation Community Advisory Committee and on the board of the Etobicoke Children's Centre.


Joanne Flewwelling, (Interim) President and CEO, William Osler Health System
Joanne is a registered nurse and a senior leader with extensive healthcare administration experience in both academic and community hospital settings. She has more than 27 years of health care experience, including a background in critical care and emergency nursing. She is currently responsible for providing leadership to all of Osler’s clinical operations including laboratory, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy and support services. In addition, Corporate Ethics and Research reports into her portfolio.
 
She has had a diverse and comprehensive background and has held senior positions in the information management/technology, finance and performance management portfolios. Prior to assuming her current role, Joanne was most recently the Vice President - Strategic Information & Performance Systems and Chief Information Officer at Osler.  
 
Joanne holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Toronto and a Master of Health Studies from Athabasca University.
