A donor to the Physician’s Campaign, Dr. Dang says her mother taught her the importance of paying it forward.
“We have all been touched in some way by Osler; we have developed our careers here, and may have had our own friends or family members – or even ourselves – treated here. Giving back to Osler through donations helps to ensure that we have the right resources to help our medical and surgical teams to treat and make a lasting impact on the lives of patients and their families,” says Dr. Dang, who has worked as a Hospitalist at Osler since 2004, and became the Site Division Head of Hospital Medicine at Etobicoke General Hospital in 2014.
Dr. Dang also pays it forward by mentoring youth as National Director of Operations for Culture Shock Canada, a not-for-profit hip hop dance organization that enriches communities through its dance education programs. Playing an active role in youth outreach and dance therapy is a growing passion for Dr. Dang, as is her dedication to improving the delivery of medical care at Osler. Last year, Dr. Dang performed with the Culture Shock Toronto dancers at the sold out Holi Gala helping to raise funds for Osler’s redevelopment initiatives.
