More than 120 cyclists took part in the 7th annual Humberview Group Ride last Sunday raising $100,000 for Etobicoke General Hospital. The cyclists, comprised of local business people and Osler physicians and staff, enjoyed a beautiful sunny day as they rode the 80 km challenging loop around Kelso Park. This epic event ended with a private post-ride celebration hosted by John Esplen, President, The Humberview Group.
This year, all ride pledges were doubled by Orlando Corporation’s $15 Million Matching Challenge resulting in a $200,000 contribution to Osler’s redevelopment initiatives at Etobicoke General. The hospital is embarking on the first major expansion project in its 45-year history. In 2018, Etobicoke General will open a state-of-the-art, four-storey wing which is currently under construction. The new wing will add approximately 250,000 square feet of space to the hospital and offer expanded access to services – like emergency and maternal/newborn care – that are needed most by the growing community.
The Humberview Group Ride is a partnership with the PwC Epic Tour in support of Etobicoke General Hospital’s redevelopment projects. To learn how you can support redevelopment at Etobicoke General Hospital, visit YouHaveThePower.ca.
