Bequests

Leaving a gift to William Osler Health System Foundation in your will is the easiest and most common way to make a planned gift.

A carefully prepared will help ensure all reasonable provisions have been made for your dependents. Your will can also be a convenient way to make a charitable gift to Osler Foundation.

Bequests can be in the form of cash, real estate, securities, tangible personal property or other assets. Here are some types of bequests, using Osler Foundation as an example:

  • Specific Bequest
William Osler Health System Foundation would receive a specific dollar amount from your estate, or a stated percent. The advantage of making a specific bequest is that it can be precisely identified and is simple to administer.
  • Residuary Bequest:
William Osler Health System Foundation would receive a percentage or all of the remainder of your estate. The actual value is sensitive to any changes in the value of your estate.
  • Sample wording
Here is some suggested language to provide for Osler Foundation in your will.

I give to William Osler Health System Foundation ________% of my estate for use as the Foundation may deem appropriate.
