As we move forward into the summer months, hopefully many of you have read the “Letter to the Community” series by William Osler Health Centre’s Supervisor Ken White published in your local community newspaper. In them, Mr. White clearly addresses the many positive steps his administration is taking to improve patient care at both Brampton Civic Hospital (BCH) and Etobicoke General Hospital (EGH).
Progress has been made in many areas so far. There is a new interim VP of Patient Services at Brampton Civic who is improving processes and structures to ensure quality, safety and accountability. A new team is looking at ways of improving Emergency department capacity and flow at that hospital as well.

Since moving into BCH from Peel Memorial Hospital things have been significantly busier than ever before.
A Director of Diversity has been hired and will develop a model for responsive patient care at both our Brampton and Etobicoke sites. There’s a new Chief Nursing Officer and Site Executive for EGH and many of the clinical and service improvements mentioned in the last issue of Partners are now underway at EGH.
All of these initiatives will improve care at your hospital and that’s good news for you and your family. During this time the Osler Foundation has continued its work to raise the funds needed to improve the programs, services and medical equipment requirements of our hospitals.
More than ever before, we need your continued support to make a difference in the care we can provide to our patients.
Community giving is a concept rooted in the practice of local residents, business leaders and service groups all working together to improve the health of the community where we live, work and play.
Sincerely,
