Akhand Paath

Akhand Paath July 13, 14, 15, 2007

William Osler Health System Foundation’s Canadian Sikh Committee, in association with William Osler Health System (WOHC) and the Sikh community brought this event to Brampton Civic Hospital in the summer of 2007.

Akhand Paath is the name given to the practice by Sikhs of the continuous recitation without any break of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Sikh scripture, from beginning to end of its 1430 pages.

The recitation or "Paath” honoured and celebrated Brampton Civic Hospital.
The ceremony lasted about 48 hours and was carried out by a team of readers, who read one at a time.
Brampton Civic Hospital, located at Bovaird Drive and Bramalea Road, opened the doors to its first patients on October 28, 2007. With over 1.2 million square feet of space, new regional programs and clinical improvements, BCH will provide outstanding care and services to a growing population base.
