CIBC launches summer fundraising for WOHC

Summer 2008 , Etobicoke, Ontario- The local CIBC branch in the Medical Office building on the grounds of Etobicoke General Hospital was the site of a kick-off launch for a series of fundraising events over the coming months to support both Etobicoke General Hospital and Brampton Civic Hospital.

Hedy Afsharian, CIBC’s General Manager, Imperial service and Business Banking, welcomed branch managers from across Brampton and Etobicoke and other special invited guests. Ms. Afsharian spoke about the need for local corporations to actively engage those in the community they serve and encourage customers to support their local hospital.

Each branch is anticipated to hold a series of activities over the summer that may include such activities cutout sales, BBQ’s, dress down days for employees, and a larger wrap-up event to be announced later.

To demonstrate his commitment to this initiative and to start the campaign on a high note, CIBC Etobicoke Vice President Venki Raman allowed Mike Stevenson, Vice President GTA West and other colleagues to throw whipped cream pies at him. Over $600 was raised on the spot on that activity alone!
